Born in 1953 in Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture. While working at an apparel manufacturer, he took up mountain climbing as a hobby, and fell in love with the appeal of mountain huts and began building wooden huts. Won the 2005 TV Champion "Log House King Championship". Participated in many domestic and international chainsaw carving (chainsaw art) competitions. From 2007 to 2009, he won three consecutive Canadian BC Chetwynd International Chainsaw Carving Championships.
