Abdul-Rahman Abdullah

Australia

An artist based on a farm in the Peel region of Western Australia, an Aboriginal country. He works primarily in sculpture and installation, exploring the intersection of identity, culture, and the natural world. Known for his figurative wood carvings, he expands traditional craft processes in a modern context to create new narratives. His work, created from an environment closely connected to agriculture, creates alternative perspectives that traverse diverse and disparate communities.

After graduating from Curtin University in 2012, he has exhibited widely across Australia, including Adelaide Biennales 2016 and 2022 (AGSA), The National 2019 (MCA), and Tarawarra Biennale 2023. His work is included in public, corporate, university, and private collections. Currently a member of the National Gallery of Australia Council. He is affiliated with Moore Contemporary, a commercial gallery in Perth.
