Yuko Mohri

Japan

Born in 1980. Artist. Rather than approaching composition, he creates installations and sculptures that focus on "phenomena" that change depending on various conditions such as the environment. Recent solo exhibitions include “I/O” (Atelier Noord, Oslo, 2021), “Parade (a Drip, a Drop, the End of the Tale)” (Japan House São Paulo, 2021), and “SP. by yuko mohri” (Ginza Sony Park, Tokyo, 2020), “Yuko Mohri: However, there is resistance” (Towada City Museum of Contemporary Art, Aomori, 2018), “Voluta” (Camden Arts Center, London, 2018) year) etc. Also, "14th Gwangju Biennale" (2023), "23rd Sydney Biennale" (2022), "Asia Art Biennale 2021" (Taichung, 2021), "34th Sao Paulo Biennale" ( 2021), “Glasgow International 2021”, “9th Asia Pacific Triennial” (Brisbane, 2018), “14th Lyon Biennale” (2017), “Yokohama Triennale 2014” (Kanagawa), etc. Participated in exhibitions both domestically and internationally. He won the Nissan Art Award Grand Prix in 2015, the Kanagawa Cultural Prize Future Award in 2016, and the 67th Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Newcomer's Art Encouragement Award in 2017. In 2015, he came to the United States as a grantee for the Asian Cultural Council (ACC). In 2018, he stayed in China as an East Asia Cultural Envoy under the Agency for Cultural Affairs. In 2022, she will travel to France as the Institut Français Cité Internationale des Arts 2020 Lauriet. In 2023, he was selected to represent the Japan Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale, and plans to hold a solo exhibition in 2024.
